Corn Hole Game Catching on Accross the U.S.
People outside of the Southern Ohio area still can’t decide what to call the game, but at least their all starting to play it. In an article in yesterday’s Chicago Sun Time, Jim Newton reported on the new found popularity of cornhole at Chicago area bars. From the article:
” Cornholers outnumbered line dancers Thursday evening at Sundance Saloon, and that says something. What, we’re not exactly sure. But this much is certain — whether you call it cornhole, corn toss, bags, bag-o or bean-toss, this simple but captivating game is becoming increasing popular at bars, picnics and in back yards across the Midwest.”
According to the article, tournaments and leagues are starting to spring up all around the Chicago area.
“A lot of bars are into bags. They’re all starting to pick up on it”

Cornhole The Game Spawns Cornhole: The Movie
It looks like Cornhole has finally made the jump to the big screen. Well, almost. Apparently this has been filmed already and submitted to Sundance for this year’s music festival. I honestly never thought I would see the day when a movie about cornhole….check that….a NON-X-rated movie about cornhole would be coming out. I guess I was wrong. Check out the following clip where they captured part of the filming of the movie right here in Blue Ash, Ohio!
I guess, with the success of movies like Dodgeball, Hollywood figures there’s a place for the game of cornhole. Hell, if a movie based on soccer like Bend it Like Beckham can have any measure of success, I’m sure a movie about a real sport like cornhole has to have a chance, right? I’ll be keeping a watch on this and I’ll let you all know if it’s given the greenlight for Sundance.
Cornhole – Not just for outdoors anymore…
Well, it’s happening…cornhole is not only taking over our summertime outdoor activities, but now it appears it will take a chunk out of our indoor time year round. Pretty soon, your local bar may be replacing that tired old Golden Tee machine with a brand spanking new “Target Toss Pro: Bags!” machine. That’s right, a cornhole video game.
From the manufacturer’s website:
“Target Toss Pro: Bags is a new videogame based on beanbag toss – the nation’s hottest tailgate and bar game sensation….Just like its sister products, Golden Tee LIVE and Silver Strike Bowler’s Club, Target Toss Pro: Bags is a trackball-controlled arcade game that’s as fun, challenging and competitive as the real thing.”
I don’t know about you, but I think this looks pretty damn cool. With an electronic corn hole game at the local bar, we’ll be able to play anytime day or night all year round. For more info on the video game, check out Target Toss Pro: Bags!

Welcome, Cornhole Fans!
Welcome to my little spot on the web where I’ll be bringing you all the latest information on our favorite game that is currently taking the nation by storm. You know, I remember not too long ago when it was actually hard to find a corn hole game. Nobody knew where to buy cornhole boards and bags and, if you knew someone who built a set, there was a good chance that they were anything but “regulation” dimensions. If you were lucky enough to know someone who had a set, you would have to invite yourself over to play a few games. Not anymore. Nowadays, it seems like everytime you turn around there’s a corn hole game going on. People are playing in their driveways, front yards, backyards, neighbor’s yards, in the street, on the sidewalk, while tailgating, camping, and, of course, while drinking beer.
Anyway, this site is here to spread the word about cornhole by bringing you the latest news and information on America’s new favorite pastime. In addition to news stories, I’ll be providing useful links to cornhole game information (official rules, board dimensions & distances, etc) as well as reviewing online cornhole vendors and providing links to good online resources.
Until next time, happy cornholing!
